Our Story

Growing up in Westfield, IN between cornfields and new neighborhoods left a lasting impression on Sean McKinney to create landscapes that will stand the test of time. A proud graduate of Cathedral High School (Class of 2016) and Indiana University Bloomington (Class of 2020, KSB), Sean wanted to forge his own path and bring his creative vision to life. After graduating with a degree in Finance and working in Wealth Management for a Fortune 500 company, Sean set out on the Springmill Group journey in January 2021 with one goal in mind: make the most beautiful landscapes. From that first truck to managing our five amazing teams, the journey is just getting started.

Behind the Name

Sean grew up off of 146th St. and Springmill Rd. He has fond memories of going north (to the farm fields he and his dogs used to explore) and south (to Holliday Park and the stately neighborhoods surrounding) and marveling at how lucky he is to live in such a beautiful place.

Having traveled to every continent except Antarctica and Australia, Sean loves to pull inspiration for your landscape from around the world. If you have an idea or memory from another place you want created, like a Japanese garden or the Spanish countryside, we can bring it to life.
